Whalebone, the market leader in telco-led consumer cybersecurity, has completed ten service launches with new customers in a single quarter. The launches span nine countries and four regions, and they mark the first time the company has taken a double-digit number of operators live within one quarter.
Among them are MTN Nigeria, MTN Ghana, ZET-MOBILE in Tajikistan, A1 Slovenia, and IPKO in Kosovo. Further launches went live in the Netherlands, Portugal, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, where the telcos will announce their services in their own markets and on their own timelines.
"Ten launches in three months, from east to west and from south to north, is the first time we have taken a double-digit number of operators live within one quarter," said Richard Malovic, CEO of Whalebone. "The pace tells us something about where the market has moved. Operators no longer need convincing that consumer cybersecurity belongs in their portfolio. The question they bring to us now is how quickly it can go live."
A Quarter That Covered Four Regions
The ten launches were delivered across Whalebone's European, Middle East and Africa, Central Asia, and Asia-Pacific teams, with services ranging from DNS Security for mass-market mobile subscribers to Identity Protection and off-network protection for non-telco partners. Each deployment follows the same principle: protection that is active at the network level, with no app to install, no configuration, and no technical knowledge required from the end user.
MTN Nigeria Introduces WebGuard
MTN Nigeria launched WebGuard, a network-level security service powered by Whalebone Aura, protecting subscribers from malicious websites, phishing attempts, and online scams in real time at the DNS level. The launch marked Whalebone's entry into one of Africa's largest digital markets.
MTN Ghana Extends Network-Level Protection to a Second MEA Market
MTN Ghana has also introduced WebGuard, powered by Whalebone Aura, and delivered with local partner Across Network Technologies (Antcellular). WebGuard is MTN Ghana's first network security product. The rollout starts with more than 176,000 home broadband households, with a second phase to follow for the operator's 20 million-plus mobile subscribers.
ZET-MOBILE Launches ZET-Security in Tajikistan
ZET-MOBILE launched ZET-Security, bringing automatic protection against phishing, malware, and other online threats to its customers in Tajikistan. The launch extends Whalebone's footprint in Central Asia, following earlier deployments in the region.
A1 Slovenia Completes the A1 Group Rollout
With the launch of A1 Protekt, A1 Slovenia became the final market in the A1 Group to offer a cybersecurity service powered by Whalebone Aura. Every market in the group now has the service in its portfolio, which makes A1 one of the most complete group-wide deployments of consumer cybersecurity in Europe.
IPKO Brings DNS-Level Protection to Kosovo
IPKO, the largest telecommunications provider in Kosovo, has taken its Whalebone-powered service live for consumers and business customers, following the partnership the two companies announced in late 2025. The service protects users at the DNS level across mobile and fixed connections, and it strengthens IPKO's ICT and cybersecurity portfolio.
Four Further Launches Across Europe and Asia-Pacific
Four more services went live during the quarter, with partners in the Netherlands, Portugal, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. These launches bring network-level protection to consumers in three of Whalebone's regions, including two markets where the company had no telco deployment before. Each partner will introduce the service to their own customers in their own way, and Whalebone will share the details of these launches as the partners announce them publicly.
Offnet Protection with Upfront Security in the Netherlands
Not every launch this quarter was with a telecommunications operator. Upfront Security B.V., part of NN Insurance in the Netherlands, went live with Whalebone Offnet Protection, extending protection to users when they are outside the network they normally connect through. The deployment shows how network-level security travels beyond the telco channel into insurance and other consumer-facing services, where digital safety is becoming part of the core offer rather than an add-on.
Whalebone Aura for Telecoms – Highlights
Whalebone offers a white-label security product for the B2C and SMB/SoHo segments, built for telecommunications companies. Operators rebrand it and start selling it under their own name.
Telecom operators worldwide point to the same reasons for choosing Whalebone Aura:
- No barriers to purchase, no installation, and high adoption rates (50%+)
- Low customer churn rate (below 2%)
- Fast time to market, with Aura Basic live in as fast as five weeks
Whalebone also provides threat intelligence drawn from in-house research, the research of global institutions, and data from hundreds of communication service providers, alongside the highest number of telco consumer cybersecurity deployments globally.
Ten Launches Toward Cybersecurity for One Billion People
Whalebone works with more than 400 communication service providers across five continents and 40 countries. The European Commission selected Whalebone's consortium as the sole developer and operator of DNS4EU, the European Union's official DNS resolver, which handled 1.3 billion DNS resolutions daily by the end of 2025.
"Our mission is to bring cybersecurity to one billion people, and quarters like this one really move the needle," said Richard Malovic. "Ten launches means hundreds of million more people who can now be protected the moment they connect, without installing anything. Thank you to the Whalebone team, who made this happen across the globe at once, and to every telco that is helping us build a world where connected means protected."
Whalebone's product suite – Aura for telecom operators, Peacemaker for regional ISPs, and Immunity for enterprises and public institutions – continues to protect users against digital threats at the network level.
